Ms. Lewis is a graduate of Randolph Macon Woman's College and the University of Texas (at Austin) School of Law (J.D. 1970 with honors), where she served as Comment Editor of the law review. She is an adjunct professor of family law at both the University of   North Carolina School of Law and Duke University School of Law. She has many publications and has been a frequent lecturer in the family law area. The founder of the firm, she has thirty years experience as a family law practitioner, and was named as one of the top family lawyers and female lawyers in North Carolina by the 2006 Edition of North Carolina Super Lawyers.
